4 Simple Ways to Detox Your Body

Detoxifying your body is the process in which you remove toxic substances from your body. While it is important to maintain a healthy diet and exercise and have good lifestyle habits in general, there are also methods such as a detox diet that can help you achieve any toxins from the body. Most people have claimed feeling more energetic and focused after and during the detox diet. This usually involves consuming fruits, vegetables and avoiding any processed foods. Find below some of the ways in which you can get started.

Fruit Detox

Fruits are a great way to detox your body without having to starve yourself or deplete any of the nutrients. Eating enough fruits in your daily diet can increase your energy levels, aid in managing your weigh and even reduce the chances of diseases such as stroke or heart attack. It is best to choose a fruit that you like to eat as you want to enjoy the process of a detox and not do it in a way that you will hate after a day or two. Keep in mind that it is important to avoid eating a fruit-only diet for more than 7 days. You can only include coconut as there are many coconut water benefits if you include them when making your fruit juices. Citrus fruits such as oranges, tangerines and grapefruits have the highest detoxifying properties.

A Liquid Fast

Consuming a full liquid diet such as water, fruit juices, vegetable juices, tea and/or protein shakes for maximum 2 or 3 days can also help. These types of liquefiednutrition can benefit jump-start weight loss by controlling the calorie consumption and are also assumed to cleanse your body from toxins. As always, it is important to get advice from a medical professional before you begin detoxing programs for prolonged periods as if it is not done correctly, you may suffer from lack of nutrition.

Drink Plenty of Water

This should be a part of your daily routine regardless of whether you are on a detox diet or not. Water is a simple but extremely effective ingredient to rid your body of any toxins. It helps maintain the fluid levels in your body where the kidneys help flush out the main toxins from your body. You can add a lemon, lime or orange in to your water and drink it throughout the day. The citric acid in these fruits help cut down the excess fat in your body plus adds flavour in the water which for some may help in getting those 2 litters of water every day.

Eat Organic Vegetables and Meat

Most conventional produce is grown using chemical fertilizers, insecticides and other pesticides. Similarly, conventional meats have harmful antibiotics and growth hormones fed and injected in to the animals. Therefore, it is best to check labels and purchase foods that are organic. This is the best way to avoid putting any harmful substances in to your body unintentionally. Whatever detox you choose to do, it is important to maintain balance and make sure you get the necessary nutrients essentials for your body to function properly
